Pc clock resetting problem!!?

um, well... my pc clock has been resetting from the time i bought the mobo, which is may 6 of 2006! its been like that for about 2 weeks now... i think its the cmos battery... isnt it? how do i change it? how much is it? is it really that complicated to change a battery? what would happen if i didnt do it right? .... dont rant pls, i just need your answers...thanks!|||look for a battery, approx an inch in diameter, on the motherboard. Use a small screw driver to take out and then bin it after you have made a note of the number on it, eg cr2032.

A nnew onewill cost a couple of quid.

Dont bin it until you have your replacement on to hand.

On the first reboot it will still sulk but once you have set the time it will be happy until the battery dies again.|||Best thing to do is to pop the CMOS battery out and take it to a computer shop so you buy an exact replacement. It should be relatively easy to remove and there is a tab directly next to the battery that can be pressed with a flat head screwdriver.

Make sure you ground yourself on the case or other metal so you don%26#039;t touch the motherboard and kill it with static.
