More CMOS errors......?

The CMOS battery in my computer needs to be replaced, it%26#039;s displaying all the usual signs eg, black energy screen on start up computer clock is years out of date ect. However, I am still continuing to use the computer. Will this cause any damage, also how long can a computer go without changing the battery when the signs mentioned above are occurring? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.|||The computer will just boot the default CMOS settings and nothing will harm your computer. Though your computer will not run to it%26#039;s optimal ideal setting unless you manually set the values everytime.|||Won%26#039;t cause any damage. Will just load setup defaults every time you boot and show the wrong time until you replace the battery.|||No problem if you don%26#039;t replace the battery at all. But you have to change the date manually every time you boot.
