If your computer dosen't post there is something worse off than just the cmos battery!

First things first -

1- is there power? Is the cup fan running? If not I would suspect a bad power supply.

2- Are there any beep codes? Is it making any noise. Like a long steady beep is a memory problem.

3- Is there a bios screen? Can you bring up a bios screen?

4- check the video card and the monitor cable. Reseat the cards in the computer by pushing gently on them to make sure they are seated properly.

If there is no bios screen and no beep codes and the cup is running then I think you computer is toast! Get a new board or take your computer to someone who has a clue of what to do without asking strangers!

I hope this helps. This is quite an advanced troubleshooting problem for a novice, get some real help!

you need to find someone that can help you there, this is not something you can talk your way though.
To reset the cmos you would have to open up your pc and locate a small round battery about the size of a coin on the big chipboard inside. Pull it out for about a minute then put it back in.
