CMOS error cannot save?

Everytime I open my PC there is an error message like this:

Warning! CPU has been changed

Please re-enter CPU settings in the CMOS setup and remember to save before quit.

Pres F1 to continue, DEL to enter SETUP.

I pressed DEL and saved settings of BIOS but same thing happen again. I then pres F1, I noticed that the date goes back to Nov 12, 2003.

I thought that my battery is dead. I changed it with a new one and save the setting again.

When I changed the battery, all the settings that i saved in BIOS were saved such as present dates, fan settings, etc.

But the problem is, even I changed the battery, everytime I start the PC this error come back again.

Warning! CPU has been changed

Please re-enter CPU settings in the CMOS setup and remeber to save before quit.

Pres F1 to continue, DEL to enter SETUP.

Anyone knows how to fix this problem?

ThanksCMOS error cannot save? There might be something wrong with the settings in CMOS. Try checking it one by one and see if there are things that needs to be changed then save it.

These should stick if all is well.

Hope this helps

K..try to do this clean..unplug the computer power cord... remove the batt... reset the cmos with the jumper..leave it in place for a few minutes. put the jumper back to it's default position. restart the computer, and go into setup and set the date, etc the way you want it. save the changes and exit. reboot. See if you still get the same error. If so, you may need to flash your bios.

Another possibility is that you are actually setting saomething in the cmos wrong, and the computer loads defaults.

Couldn't be possible that you are %26quot;hacked%26quot; and %26quot;bugged%26quot; that you are forced to change your CPU??? It's popular nowadays... Or request an expert technician to help.
Im not sure about this...but try this. Enter into the CMOS setup and try to update time and save the time settings there.
